Government Contracts
The most prevalent and complex source of new construction work is government contracts. AC+S lawyers have years of experience dealing with contract administration, bidding procedures, contract formation, and procurement systems in construction at the federal, state, and local levels. We have represented clients in matters involving the Army Corps of Engineers, NAVFAC, U.S. Airforce, and the U.S. Postal Service, and made appearances before boards of contract appeals, the U.S. Federal Court of Claims, and various administrative hearing offices and state courts.
We stay on the cutting edge of construction procurement issues and provide successful counseling and guidance on alternative project delivery methods, such as “best value” procurement, “design/build,” P3 design-build-operate-maintain (DBOM) and “competitive negotiations,” and their application to public construction projects. While our primary focus is on construction representation, our lawyers have experience dealing with other types of public contracts as well, such as services and system contracts.
